Free USB Stick
What has always annoyed me was that the Mac writes hidden files on USB sticks that are only for the Mac. When I
pass such USB sticks on to friends, they are sometimes confused about the strange files with a "." at the
beginning. So I decided to program a small tool for the Mac, which deletes these hidden files.
Free USB Stick is born!
Free USB Stick deletes Mac-specific files on your USB sticks. Simply drag the stick to the named drop zone in the App and then you will see which hidden files on the USB stick are deleted. Last but not least, you can also eject the USB stick after deleting it.
Free USB Stick is free.
The app was developed in Java 17 on Sonoma and the Java runtime is embedded right into the app. It runs on macOS High Sierra, Mojave, Big Sur, Monterey and Sonoma.
Whether it runs on later macOS depends on Apple's policy. The same methods of getting it to start apply here as for Whatscop.
